Elounda
Elounda village is idyllically set opposite Spinalonga and the larger island of Colokitha which is accessible by a causeway.
We are 10 kilometers away from the bustling town of Agios Nikolaos and 5 kilometers from the beautiful village of Plaka.
There is a large sandy manmade public and numerous small bays and secluded rocks where you can swim in the clear blue water.
There are many bars and Tavernas of very high standard in Elounda also lots of souvenir, jewelry and clothing shops too.
You can keep fit with beautiful seaside and mountain track walks.
A boat trip to Spinalonga is a must - the site of an ancient Viennese Fortress and latterly a leper colony, closing in 1957.
This is the second most popular site to visit in Crete (Knossos being the first)and has a application pending for a National Heritage Site.
The general friendliness of the locals is one reason there are so many repeat guests to Elounda, you’re sure of a warm welcome and a very enjoyable holiday!

Spinalonga
Spinalonga is a fascinating island visible from Elounda, about 4 kilometers away, a 20 minute boat trip. It has a long history as an ancient Viennese Fortress and more recently a leper colony. Victoria Hislop wrote a best seller about ‘The Island’ which has been translated all over the world.
Plaka
Plaka is a traditional and very pretty village 5 kilometers from Elounda about a one hour walk by the sea. There are several tavernas and shops amount the old houses and there’s an amazing view of Spinalonga which is only half a kilometer out at sea.
Agios Nikolaos
Agios Nikolaos is a cosmopolitan town 10 kilometers from Elounda a popular holiday destination since well before Elounda was discovered. A major destination for cruise boats and lots to see there, definitely worth a visit and you’ll see the panoramic views on the journey there and back.
